The B Network has been dormant for a while, but now, A.B.B. has officially made his return and things are returning to normal. BGC is nearly done, B Arcade is expanding, and BGC Topsites now has a new logo! To catch up on the huge pile of emails, Sam has returned to answer your emails!
Email #1 (From jojoizawsum345):
Hey guys at B! Where R U?? Never mind. You’re probably on some sort of vacation. Anyway, when u come bak, I want to know if you hav plansz for a new website? Maybe something like B Awesome!! that would be Awesome like me!
Sam’s Response:
Well, jojo, our strategy is simple right now. We want to maximize what we already have. One of the problems that the B Network has been having is that we have a lot on our hands. There is a total of 5 websites under the B Network umbrella. This one exists only as a semi-blog, since a great deal of info on the B Network can be found elsewhere. A.B.B. and I want to fix this, and we’ve been telling our main website manager, Alex Jones exactly what needs to be done. To further increase our efforts, I’ve taken control of B Arcade.
Email #2 (From americanartist321):
Sam, I’ve always wondered what happens up there in the hierarchy of the B Network. Do you guys get along? Also, what are your plans for expanding your reach? All I’ve seen is YYG/Game Maker. If you’re serious about getting a larger audience, then you should expand to other languages and websites.
Sam’s Response:
Believe it or not, we do get along most of the time. However, A.B.B. and I have had some arguments, and I’ve had quite a few with Alex Jones. But we’re still going. To respond to your second question, we’re already on it. B Arcade is looking at Game Jolt games, and we’ve already begun to add games from Game Jolt to the site. As of now, it isn’t yet live, but stay tuned for further updates as we progress on this.
Email #3 (From bnetworksucks):
Yo SAM i’M SOrRY! U GUYZ R RIGHT! EVERYTIHNG I SIAD WAZ RONG. bUT iDO HAV 1 QUESTION: Y DO U WANT TO HaVE AN ARCADE it doesnt make sense. THERE ARE COMPEToRs OUT THER. AND I GO now change my EMAIL BacK TO FATMAN CUZ BNETWORK DUSNT SUK. OH And sorry fUr THE WeRD CAPS LOCK I BROKe it a long TimE AGO.
Sam’s Response:
Good to see that you’ve matured, fatman. Well, to answer your first legitimate question, the point of B Arcade is to provide an alternative to these services. There are plenty of similar sites, but we’re dedicated to indie games and we’re expanding our focus to multiple different websites. Finally, we’re discarding the idea of B Arcade as a Game Maker-only site. That doesn’t make sense, as it makes us too much of a supplement to YYG. We want B Arcade to be independent from YYG, and we’re now one step closer.
Email #4 (From indiegamedev344):
I’m impressed at what you guys at the B Network are doing. You’re starting from nothing, yet you’re trying to expand into a place with a ton of competition. I think BGC is going to be a major success. I’ve seen the B Gaming Community, and honestly, it sucked. It looked at things from the wrong angle. BGC seems pretty cool. You want it to be an always-expanding community, and you’re aiming for the sky with this. I’m patiently waiting for the day that it is complete.
P.S. I think it’s funny that you’re going the route of abbreviating. It reminds me of KFC and BP, whose names had negative connotations, while yours didn’t.
Sam’s Response:
You’re right about the B Gaming Community. It was pretty suckish. The best thing that ever came to it was the Community Games section, which was made obsolete by the arrival of B Arcade. It wasn’t Web 2.0, it wasn’t good-looking, it wasn’t maintained. The problems keep going on. I’m impressed at your optimism. We’ve pushed the deadline back so many times with BGC that it isn’t even funny. But we’re closer than ever now, and I’m sure you’ll be happy to hear that.
Conclusion:
This is Sam, signing off. The B Network is back and stronger than ever.
